Smile, you are awesome

Hi everyone. I am back with two cards made from one die and one of the new sparkles blend from Doodles Paper Playground - Breakfast at Tiffy's.

One of my favorite color combinations is teal and gold/bronze. This new sparkle blend is gorgeous with these colors! For my cards, I used teal cardstock and heat embossed a filigree pattern in gold on it. Then I die cut the large 'smile' sentiment out of it.

For the shaker card, I adhered acetate to the back of the teal cardstock and then used thin foam tape all around the outside of the sentiment and in a few key spots within the sentiment to make sure it didn't collapse in the center. I took a side folding white A2 card and pressed my versamark ink pad all along the edges.  Then added the gold embossing powder to the edges and heated it.

I added lots of the sequin blend in the middle of my sentiment with the foam tape. I took the release tape off of the outside portions of the foam but left it on in the center where I had it within the sentiment. This keeps the sequins from getting stuck as I add it to my card and lets them bounce around a little more freely. I laid my my gold embossed card down on top and pressed firmly.

For my second card, I cut out two more Smile die cuts from white cardstock and layered the letters from the first card with the two white die cuts together to make chip board letters. I used the white 'negative' scraps and temporarily adhered it to the front of my A2 card. I added adhesive to the back of my letters and then placed them back in the negative space and pushed down. Then I carefully removed the negative scrap and rubbed any extra adhesive off. I stamped the smaller sentiment in versafine black ink and used a couple of my sparkle blend on either end. I love when I can make two cards at once! :D
