You don't have to include this
quote or any other quote on your CAS card, but we'd like you to use it to
inspire your creativity. It could be as simple as using some new stash that you
were lucky enough to receive for Christmas or using a new to you technique or a
card to encourage you or someone else to stick to their New Year plans.
For my card, I used a set of stamps that I got recently and hadn't had a chance to use yet and to send a note of encouragement. To start, I used a border die and some masking paper to create a curved strip to mask off a section for my sentiment. Then I used a few different flower stamps to stamp around the masked off area. I removed the masking paper and used copics to color in the flowers. In retrospect, I probably would have left the masking paper in place while I colored. I kept the coloring simple and only used 4 markers in all. I took a white gel pen and added some dots on the petals and centers of some of the flowers.
I stamped the sentiment to the right in the white space and used a fine line marker to add a dashed line along the center of the masked off area.
So what is new in your life for 2018? Did you get new crafting stash or make a New Years' resolution? I would like to learn hand lettering this year :) I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge.

So pretty! And I love that wavy die cut to focus the eye on the encouraging sentiment. Super bright and sunny colours too.
ReplyDeletevery happy and sunny card, goes well with the positive sentiment. I gave up on handlettering, I just can't do it ;-) I blame myself for being a lefty lol
