I try to keep a few sympathy cards around. It seems like if I don't have one ready when I need one, I don't have the time or energy to make it then. Its definitely better to make them when you don't need them!

Anyway, I made this one using Paper Smooches Botanicals 3 and Hero Arts Prayers stamp and cut.

I wanted the leaves and flowers to be mostly on the bottom but climbing up on the left slightly. I tried to keep to minimal colors since it will probably be sent at a subdued time. I inked up some plain white cardstock and then cut our the 'prayers' die. I also cut it out of foam and then put the colored die on top of the foam for some added dimension. I took the white cardstock that I had cut the prayer out of and inked up the edges so to use as the background paper so it was the same color as the die.

I heat embossed the first part of the sentiment and added a couple of sequins to finish it off.

I am putting this card in a couple of challenges. The first is Color Throwdown #344 and A Blog Named Hero - Bling it Up.

  1. This is so pretty! The sequins add a great touch of sparkle! Thanks so much for playing along with us this week at the Color Throwdown!

  2. Oh! This is so very pretty. And I feel the same. I've needed to send way too many sympathy cards this month, and ran out. Making them as they're needed just does not work. Note to self: make more. Anyway... thanks for joining us at A Blog Named Hero!

  3. Such a pretty card.. Loved each and every element on this art piece.. Thank you for joining us with A Blog A Named Hero this month
