I have been trying to do a few Christmas cards each month so that I am not in a rush at the end of the year. I am not always successful but I try :) Anyway, this is a great challenge to jump start your holiday cards. For my card, I went with cool blue colors (I think it was upper 90s outside and I really wanted to channel some cooler temps).
I started my card by die cutting some masking paper with a border die. I stuck the border and a straight piece of masking paper an inch or so apart on my top folding A2 card. Then I used 3 colors of blue to blend the background color. Before taking my masking paper off, I traced the bottom edge with a light gray marker to give definition to the bottom of my scene. After removing the masking tape and letting the ink dry a bit, I stamped the tree and sentiment.
Supplies:
Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Plan on it Holidays; Clearly Besotted - Layered wreath
Dies: Avery Elle - Dotted borders
Inks: Distress inks - Faded jeans, Broken china, Tumbled glass; MFT - Black Licorice
Our sponsor this challenge is Happy Little Stampers who is giving a $20 gift certificate and Kylie and our guest designer, Maria have joined the design team with beautiful cards. Hope you can join us for the challenge this fortnight :)

ReplyDeleteSo beautiful x
ReplyDeleteBeautifully CAS Cheryl! I thought that you had stuck the image panel onto the base card when I first saw your card - didn't realise it was a one-layer card until I read your blog post! Very clever effect with that grey line!
ReplyDeleteLove this, so simple
ReplyDeleteThis is killer fabulous. Absolutely genius. I just love the simplicity and the power of it, Cheryl...
