Who doesn't love pirates? Especially cute ones like this. :) To start my card, I used a top folding A2 card of kraft cardstock and randomly stamped several of the small stamps from the YNS stamp set Yo Ho Ho in a light gray to create a pirate themed background. Then I stamped the parrot and little boy pirate on the same kraft cardstock and colored them with copics. (Side note: this is the first time I had ever used copics on kraft cardstock as more than just a background for pencils. I had fun with it but I definitely need more practice. I found that the colors go on pretty muted and brighten up as they dry, not quite as much as on white cardstock though.) For the white touches, I used a white colored pencil and then fussy cut them out.
For the sentiment, I die cut a piece of vellum and used versafine black ink to stamp the sentiment on it. Then I took clear embossing powder to emboss it and make it stand out. I adhered the sentiment and pirate crew to the A2 card and added a few gumdrops for the finishing touches.
