AAA Cards #112 - Favorite Technique

Hi everyone and Happy Easter :) I am back and want to invite you to join us for the AAA Cards challenges showcasing your favorite technique.

I had the absolute hardest time coming up with one single favorite technique so I picked a combo; coloring, masking and ink blending. Here is what I came up with using it.

To start, I stamped the little froggy on a piece of white cardstock and then again on a 'post it' note. I colored him with zig clean color markers and a water brush. Then I laid the mask on top and used a stencil and distress ink to add the abstract raindrops. After the stencil was lifted but before I took the mask off, I stamped the little raindrop coming off of the lily pad so it looked like it was hanging there. I took the mask off, colored the droplet and then used a white gel pen to make the polka dots on his boots brighter and add a couple of highlights. I also used a black felt pen to darken the outline of the frog again.

I have a lot of colored cardstock but I didn't have the right shade of blue to use as a backdrop for my panel. To fix that, I took a top folding A2 white card and used the same color distress ink as my 'raindrops' to blend color on the top and left edge. Then I added my stamped panel to the front.

Supplies:
Stamps: Create a Smile - Unfrogettable
Inks: Distress oxide - Salty Ocean; Zig Clean Color - 041,047,051,091,099,303; Signo white gel pen
Stencil: Penny Black - dotlets
