Sketches are one of my favorite kinds of challenges. They take some of the stress off for me since they do a portion of the design work. Here is my take on it.
For this card I started by getting my watercolors out. I used a sheet of watercolor paper and added water to a few inches at the top. Then I added purple and pink watercolors to it. I went back and forth across the sheet several times to blend the colors together. After it dried, I went back over it a few more times to get the color more intense. Once it had dried, I trimmed out a piece to fit on my card. I decided it needed a frame of sorts so I grabbed a paper pad of different foiled designs and cut a piece to go behind the watercolor strip.
The sentiment is a single layer die cut from My Favorite Things out of black cardstock. I adhered the two strips down and then used multi matte medium to add the sentiment on top. The foiled strip reflects back the shadows of the sentiment which looks really cool. I felt like something was missing though so I added a couple of Nuvo drops around the sentiment. I think I have an addiction to Nuvo drops :)
Supplies:
Dies: MFT - Celebrate
Inks: Mijello Mission Gold - perm rose, br. clear violet
Misc: Nuvo drops - silver lining
Our sponsor this week is Happy Little Stampers. They are giving out a $20 gift certificate.
