I started out by stamping the deer on a white cardstock panel and then stamped the ornaments around his antlers. The strings for the ornaments are just drawn in with a black gel pen. I stamped the sentiment in gold metallic ink and heat embossed it with clear EP. I trimmed the panel down slightly and layered it on some gold foil paper and then onto a card base. The last touches I added were with a white gel pen to the ornaments and eye of the deer. The longest part of this was just figuring out which color inks I wanted to use :)
Supplies:
Stamps: HA - CL Deer and CL christmas tree
Inks: Distress - antique linen; SU - creamy caramel, garden green;
Lawn Fawn - walnut, doe; HA - neon red; Delicata gold
Misc: DCWV patterened foil paperpad; Stamendous clear EP

ReplyDeleteThis is a stunning card, Cheryl! I love it! The colours you chose for the deer are perfect and so realistic - and doesn't that delicata ink stamp nicely?! I thought it was embossed until I read your post!
ReplyDeleteHello Cheryl, I just adore your card. We don't get deer coming through our yard at our new home. Loved seeing lil bambies playing, being carefully watched by their Mom. This is a fabulous Holiday card. The placement of the ornaments is so much fun too! Hugs, Tracie
ReplyDeleteSuper CAS card, the deer looks so realistic. xx
ReplyDeleteThe deer looks like it was colored not just stamped! Very sweet. I love colorful ornaments and metalic sentiment too. What a clever idea to heat emboss the metalic ink!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this pretty warm holiday card, Cheryl.
