Stars and rainbows

Hello blogland :)

I have two cards for you today. The first card I have is a celebration card.

I wanted to use some bright colors behind a sentiment and decided that stars would be a good look. Then realized, I have no star stamps. However, I do have some star dies so I used those to create masks and blended distress inks over them. The sentiment was die cut three times and then layered up to get dimension. The stars didn't show as much as I wanted behind the sentiment so before I adhered the 'celebrate' I used my distress inks with some water to create a splatter look. I also put glossy accents on the sentiment to give it shine.

Supplies
Dies: MFT - celebrate; Paper Smooches - Stars
Inks: Distress inks - Squeezed lemonade, carved pumpkin, twisted citron

The second card is my first try from the Rainbow Maker class at Online Card Classes.

One of the techniques taught is called an abstract rainbow so that is what I tried. I masked off a dragonfly and then colored over it with my ink pads. Then I stamped the sentiment at the bottom.

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT - Handwritten Happiness
Dies: Cuttlebug - Up in the Air
Inks: Mama Elephant - various

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. I love the way you stretched your dies to create those stars, great job! Your design is very fun and I love the way you used that white die cut sentiment on top of your stenciled design. Very creative card! Thanks for joining us at Less Is More!
