This card was inspired by the sketch in CAS colors and sketches and Little Red Wagon's Three of a kind. The sketch was picked out by Jane and it is her final sketch as a CAS Colors/Sketches DT member. I liked the idea of the seahorses on a blue panel for the water over sand, so that is my color scheme. I started by die cutting the chevron shape at the bottom of my blue panel. Then I took the cut panel and used that as a guide for placing the die on a white cardstock so that it would be at the same angle. The seahorses were embossed with gold EP. This embossing powder is really shiny and beautiful close up.
Then I used versamark ink and a background stamp to create the dot background behind the seahorses. I did a few practice tries with a couple of blue colors instead of versamark but I think that the faint color looks better in this case. I glued both panels onto a kraft top folding card and added the sentiment to the white panel. Now, next time I want to convince someone to go on vacation with me, I can pull this out ;)
Stamps: Hero Arts - color layering seahorse, dot moire bold prints
Inks: MFT - black licorice, Versamark
Dies: Avery Elle - Custom Panels
Embossing Powder: Recollections - Gold
