Stars and stripes

Today's card was inspired by two challenges: Double D Challenges - red/white/blue and Freshly Made Sketches #287. I have a friend whose birthday is on the 4th of July so this is for her :)

I started by clear embossing little stars from Hero Arts on white cardstock and then blending distress ink over them. The stars resisted the ink and I had a pretty background. I already had dp that was red and white striped so I cut out stars from the two pieces. I dry embossed a small strip of white cardstock to have more stripes behind the stars and colored a slightly larger strip with the same blue distress ink to layer behind it. The sentiment from Clearly Besotted was white heat embossed on red cardstock and a few sequins finished my card.

I am sharing this in:

  1. This is awesome! Why is it when I make a card with this much white space it looks horrible ... when you do it, it looks so professional and awesome? LOL! Great job! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Double D ‘Red, White & Blue’ challenge! We hope you’ll come back often.
