Lighthouse

Happy Monday :) Today I made a card that was inspired by the challenge at Time Out Challenges CASEing a card by their guest designer, Hannelie. Here is my take on it.
I started by die cutting a circle out of some masking paper and then stamped the lighthouse with versamark and embossed with clear powder. The masking paper started curling up under the heat gun so I took it off and stuck it back (mostly in the same place) once I was done. I used distress oxides to blend a sunset palette over the lighthouse and then used a tissue to wipe off the color on the embossed area. For the splattering, I smooshed the ink pads on my kraft mat and sprayed it with water. Then used a paintbrush to pick it up and flick it around the outer edges of the circle.  I got a few spots inside the circle and used another tissue to mop it up which gave me a few paler spots.
The sentiment was white heat embossed on black cardstock which I then trimmed down and propped up with foam tape. I added a few drops of Nuvo just because I wanted to add something more and then cropped the corners :)

Stamps: lighthouse - Stampin' Up (not sure the name), Altenew 'Beautiful Quotes'
Inks: Distress Oxide Inks - Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Fired Brick and Worn Lipstick
Embossing powder - Simon Says stamp

I am entering this in Time Out Challenges CASEing and AAA Card Challenges #90 - Embossing

Thanks for stopping by!
