Celebrate with a cupcake

I colored this cute stamp from Penny Black's Cakes and Wishes set with my copics and then put in some shadows with colored pencils. I used gel pens to color in the sprinkles on the cupcake and then decided that I wanted a little more dimension so I added some Nuvo drops too. Its funny, I didn't realize I liked coloring until I started making cards. Now, I find random reasons to pick up markers, pencils and pens. :)

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Sunburst set. I stamped it in Versafine black ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. Once I was done, I didn't like how much white space there was but I didn't know what else to add. I decided to cut the panel down a bit and use purple card stock behind it. I stamped the edges of the purple with a border from Paper Smooches with Versamark ink to get a tone on tone effect.

I am sharing this card in CASology #243 - Icing, Addicted to Stamps #236 - Anything Goes and Send a Smile 4 Kids challenges.

  1. This is cute, and love the sprinkles on the frosting. Nice matching of her dress and the background. Saw your creation on SAS4Kids and it caught my eye.
