Birthday Girl

So my niece is turning 12 this month and I thought this card would be perfect for her. She loves pink and purple and (in the summer at least) refuses to wear shoes. :)

I started coloring this little girl from Penny Black without really thinking about what I was going to do with her. I didn't have the patience to color around all the polka dots on her dress so once I was done, I took a white gel pen and added the dots back in and also added stripes on the present. I used a black pen to darken her eyes because they had really faded under the coloring.

Once I had finished the coloring, I used a scallop die to highlight her and then used a Tattered Rose distress ink cube and brushed it against the edges to make it stand out a little more. I used some patterned paper and purple cardstock layered on a top folding white base to finish it off.

I am putting this in the Send a Smile 4 Kids spring color challenge, Penny Black March - Anything Goes, SSS Wednesday Challenge and the Time Out Love/Friendship challenge.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you like my little card!
